Where to stay in Cents

A hillside residential quarter east of the city with fewer than 3 hotels and clear views over the valley.

Who it suits

Cents sits on the plateau east of Clausen and Neudorf, above the Alzette valley and just south of the airport approach. It's a residential district of family houses and modest apartment blocks. It suits travellers with early flights (the airport is 8 minutes by taxi), drivers passing through, and anyone stopping over between cities with no plans to sightsee.

It doesn’t suit tourists on a short trip. There is nothing to see in Cents itself, restaurants are few, and the old town requires a bus and change or a taxi.

Price and access

A handful of small hotels and B&Bs at 90-140 EUR, some catering explicitly to the airport market. This is among the cheapest sleep near the city.

Walkable: essentially nothing of tourist interest, though the Kalchesbréck woods on the eastern edge are pleasant for a run. Bus 29 links Cents to Gare Centrale in about 20 minutes; bus 16 passes en route to the airport. A car makes stays here dramatically easier.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Is Cents good for an airport layover?

Yes — hotels here are cheaper than the airport zone itself and the drive to Findel is under 10 minutes.

Can I walk to the old town from Cents?

Technically yes in 35-40 minutes, but it involves a steep descent to Neudorf and back up. Bus is far easier.

Doing good is the business: every booking through Stay Luxembourg funds one verified tonne of carbon removal — same room, same price, no markup.
